we just ended the AirOps 2021 Webinar # 3: « SMS in ground handling: are you ready? »
For this third Webinar, “a great experienced panel” moderated by Terry Yeomans (IBAC) with as panellist Joseph Azzaz (St Tropez Airport), Kerry Besgrove (Harrods Aviation Limited) and Michal Pazourek (ABS Jets).
If you never heard about SMS in ground handling, you missed something not attending this webinar.
A clear demonstration from the panellist that from now on we will have to run the Business with a Management System including Safety. The Covid crisis is just another brick in the wall of Safety Management proofing. SMS with its integrated tools, Risk Assessment, Management of Change, Emergency Response Plan, Procedures and Policies have been showing their efficiency from the beginning of the crisis. The one having a SMS were more prepared to face the Covid crisis than the other, and will to go back to “normal” operation later on.
The entire Business is realising now that EHS is to be taken in account. What is more precious that our Health, our Environment, and our Safety? SMS implementation helps you. This 3rd webinar was a testimonial about what a SMS brings to your day-to-day Business, and not only in the GHSP.

Today we had our Aviation MRO FBO SME attending as panellist AirOps 2021 Webinar#2, see below his comments.

We just ended the AirOps 2021 Webinar # 2: Post pandemic and post Brexit.
For this second Webinar, “an excellent panel” said our moderator Robert Baltus (EBAA), with as panellist Francesco Gaetani (EASA), Iryna Tissot (VINCI Airport), Simon Shinn (Netjets), and myself.
Intensive exchange between the panellist on the above subject, what we faced, what came out, lessons learned, how the Regulator and our Industry react to the Covid crisis, as well as with Brexit, UK becoming a ”third country”.
Many takeaways from this second webinar. One of them, is that majority of the audience is concerned by the uncertainty of a potential economy crisis that will break the impulse given to Business Aviation going back to “normal” quickly.
Another takeaway is that the Regulator, EASA, did a lot in supporting Aviation industry, and still does, in the Covid crisis, as well for Brexit issue and results of the work between EASA and UK CAA in order not to stop Operation, Maintenance and Airport services.
Everyone agreed also that the next challenge for Business Aviation within 10 years will be Environment.
And finally, all of us agreed that Post Pandemic and Post Brexit is an Opportunity for Business Aviation.

Today we attended AirOps 2021 Webinar#1. Read below our Aviation MRO/FBO Expert comments on the event.

« We just ended the first AirOps 2021 Webinar: State of play: Airports & FBOs. We had an excellent panel with Claire Leleu (Eurocontrol), Arthur Thomas (EBAA), Richard Koe, (Wingx), Abdul Charafeddin, (UAS International Trip Support) moderated by Robert Baltus (EBAA) and supported by EBAA team. An intensive presentation shared between the panellists of the situation in EU about Business Aviation activities and the impact of the Covid crisis on Airports and FBOs. Many takeaways from this first webinar. One of them, as we all know, is that it will take time to recover from this crisis, the optimist say 5 years when figures and actual indicators give 7 years. Nevertheless, BA is a resilient activity and its flexibility allow it to go back to “normal” quicker than Commercial Airlines. Unfortunately BA is still seen a non-priority activity, reserved to VIP flight. Some forget that Business Aviation has and is performing flight and assistance for Medical purpose, taking people back to their country, transport of Medical supplies, as well as supporting State or Government operation. Without the flexibility of the Operators, Airports and GHPS, this would not happen. Business Aviation is part of the Aviation world and economy and is to be consider and supported as such. »

Our Associated Business Partner in Europe is currently following the « IS-BAH Fundamental » training, given by Terry Yeomans, Director of the IS-BAH Program, a two-day session on the basics and principles of the standard.

This session will be followed by a second two-day session on audit techniques related to the standard.

Our objective at the end of the training is to be certified by IBAC as PAS and to be an essential support for FBO EMEA in their IS-BAH certification procedures.

Today, May 28, 2020 was the 6th Board Standard meeting of the IS-BAH.

Usually, this meeting takes place during the Geneva International Business Aviation Show (EBACE).

Due to the circumstances that we all lived in these times; EBACE was cancelled for 2020.

Nevertheless, the board ensured the meeting, thanks to the technological means available.

The committee was therefore able to review the proposals for revisions of the standard and proceed to the election of the new Vice-Chairman of the committee, the previous one having taken the post of Chairman of the board which had expired.

We are proud and honoured to have in our team one of our expert consultants elected Vice-Chairman of the IS-BAH Board Standard for two years.

This election shows the recognition of our experts and the confidence of the industry in our fields of activity.

Today April 27, 2020 met the steering committee of AMAC.

Usually this meeting is held in Brussels at the same time as the EBAA steering committee. Unfortunately, this year, the event was cancelled following Covid 19.

However, the steering committee ensured the meeting thanks to the technological means available.

The committee was therefore able to review the results of the 2019 activities and proceed to the election of the new Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the AHGOC committee, the Chairmanship having been vacant for some time.

A first in the election because two Vice Presidents were elected by common accord with the aim of reviving the activity of the AHGOC committee.

We are proud and honoured to have on our team one of our expert consultants elected Vice President of the AHGOC Steering Committee for three years.

This election shows the recognition of our experts and the confidence of the industry in our fields of activity.
